The second beer in Lakefront’s Variety pack. Their flagship beer.. Riverwest Stein Amber Ale.

On the pour we get a nice coppery clear body with a just a bit off white mousse-like head with substantial carbonation. Looks great

Whoa the aromas here. First is carmelly graininess with a bit of orange, then a faint amount of roasted malt. Not a wildly complex aroma profile, but everything stands up and out.

And now the taste. More of the caramel upfront, but not in a sweet kind of way, more of the orange,, reminds me of the Goldings hop kind of orange. Just a hint of that roasted malt, more like a very faint chocolate note. Everything is in perfect proportions.
A good body feel that finishes quite nice. Not dry so to say, but maybe crisp is the word. Lower bitterness but it does not come off as sweet or heavy.

Wow this is a great beer. Nothing out of place, no ingredient ovelooksrpowering another, low bittered, but not dull. I was a bit worried when I saw they had an Amber Ale in a summer pack, but this Riverwest Stein, while being a slightly fuller beer, drinks much lighter than it like it would.
I really do like this one. It makes a great breakfast beer. And for that,, I’ll go 4 out 5!
